Vanessa Rondini
The paintings I am creating are attempts to preserve memories and marks places I often frequent have pressed into me. Geometric remnants of architecture as well as dirty washes of dark and bright colors flood my work trying to show what it’s like to revisit old places and past memories with new eyes. There is a certain feeling of darkness or a looming unknown inside my paint with a glimmer of beauty and hope mixed in. To me my paintings are memories welcoming you to enter, if you dare. I am increasingly becoming interested in the impact a small detail can have on the overall intake of what I’ve created. I draw much of my inspiration from the opportunities and freedoms city life has given me and the failure/success of what I've done with them. I have lived on my own in and out of busy cities since a very young age. It can be a very scary place at times but overwhelmingly rewarding. This shows in my work.
